Energy Law:
- Principally devoted to representing large energy companies before regulatory agencies and courts in all of the New England states and New York.
- Represented over twenty major energy projects involving several billion dollars in Massachusetts, Connecticut and New York including eleven cases before the Massachusetts Supreme Court.
- Represented the first three major power plant projects to be permitted by the Massachusetts Energy Facilities Siting Board (“EFSB”).
- Represented the first merchant power plant to be licensed in Massachusetts and was successful in modifying the EFSB’s standards to meet the needs of such facilities.
- Assisted an emergency generation facility in achieving all necessary approvals in time to be in-service to help prevent more severe blackouts in southeastern Connecticut.
- Represents the positions of competitive suppliers in both formal proceedings and informal settlements processes.
- Served as counsel to a well known higher education institution in the Boston area in various energy issues including defense against the Massachusetts Department of Public Utilities for an onerous fee due to a new generation facility.
