Professional and Community Involvements
Former Commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection from 1999 to 2003. Headed the development, implementation and enforcement of air, water, waste and site cleanup policy for the Commonwealth, as well as managed a $110 million annual budget and staff of 1100 employees.
Former General Counsel and Deputy Secretary for Environmental Policy at the Massachusetts Executive Office of Transportation and Construction, and Senior Environmental Counsel at the Big Dig.
