Trusts and Estates Law:
- Counsels family businesses on succession planning and tax issues, drafts buy-sell agreements, insurance trusts, irrevocable defective grantor trusts, installment sales and related techniques to reduce taxation and ensure continuity in business planning and family control;
- Develops and drafts conservation restrictions and agricultural easements on behalf of individual clients and organizations, to promote conservation or the preservation of rural agrarian traditions while reducing property tax and estate tax exposure and ensuring continued family ownership;
- Manages and administers assets in excess of $350 million dollars (including real estate, closely held business interests and marketable securities) as a professional fiduciary for trusts, estates and charitable foundations, and provide counsel and representation in all phases of trust and estate administration and related tax reporting;
- Provides tax and estate planning and fiduciary services to individuals and families located throughout the United States, Europe and Central America;
- Engages in probate litigation involving proof of Wills, reform and interpretation of testamentary and trust instruments, undue influence or incompetency;
- Develops and drafts prenuptial agreements, co-tenancy agreements, and domestic and business partnership agreements concerning the disposition of family property, jointly acquired real estate, and other joint enterprises involving the equitable division of property interests.
- Counsels and represents individuals before the IRS and advises on compliance issues;
- Provides representation in connection with the purchase and sale of residential and commercial real estate.
