Jared Bishop’s practice focuses on estate planning for high-net-worth individuals, with extensive experience in estate and gift tax planning, trust and estate administration, and drafting complex estate planning instruments.

Jared drafts various estate planning and financial documents to serve clients’ needs and provide for asset protection, business succession planning, and minimizing income tax, gift tax, and estate tax consequences. Jared drafts various estate planning and financial documents to serve clients’ needs and provide for asset protection, business succession planning, and minimizing income tax, gift tax, and estate tax consequences. He has substantial experience in drafting wills, revocable trusts, generation-skipping dynasty trusts, irrevocable life insurance trusts, spousal lifetime access trusts, grantor retained annuity trusts, realty nominee trusts, durable power of attorneys, health care proxies, and promissory notes.  He assists fiduciaries in administering trusts and estates, as well as managers of limited liability companies.  Jared also prepares federal gift tax returns, as well as federal and Massachusetts estate tax returns.

Jared recently advised and assisted a Trustee in severing an irrevocable trust for generation-skipping transfer tax purposes and, subsequently, one of the trust’s Grantors in making a late allocation of his generation-skipping transfer tax exemption.  He also recently assisted a Trustee in decanting a trust, with assets consisting of an interest in a Massachusetts nominee trust, a Massachusetts realty nominee trust, marketable securities, and preferred stock in a non-publicly traded company.

Additionally, Jared has experience assisting in reviewing and analyzing voluminous subscription agreements and managing the probate of estates. He has formed and maintained various corporate entities, including family limited partnerships, limited liability companies, corporations, and charitable foundations.
