Accounts Receivable Specialist
ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE SPECIALIST
Rubin and Rudman, LLP is looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist who will process incoming payments from clients and maintain AR records. This person will also review receipts for accurate posting and daily cash applications. The successful candidate is detail-oriented, organized and self-motivated with strong people skills.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, process and post cash receipts for operating, IOLTA and Escrow accounts
- Provide ACH/wire notification to secretaries/attorneys for processing
- Process/post client credit card payments and send out notifications
- Create transfers, reallocations and apply retainer funds as directed by attorney
- Research and resolve client account and invoice discrepancies
- Review and audit client trust accounts and review/apply unallocated
- Maintain records regarding payment, account status and client/address change
- Process accounts receivable write-offs and payment reversals
- Complete client audit paperwork and third party requests
- Review Operating and CTA accounts to the bank and Ledger on a weekly basis
- Investigate and communicate with internal staff on payments and resolve any AR issues
- Provide the firm and management with pertinent reports on cash receipts, collections
- May perform back-up duties for other positions within the accounting work group
Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
- A minimum of two years of AR experience (legal or service industry preferred)
- Experience using Elite or Aderant is a plus
- High level of accuracy, accountability and attention to detail
- Excellent communication, research, problem solving and time management skills
- Able to build relationships with internal departments and comfortable talking to all levels
- Intermediate excel skills and working knowledge of Office
