Marketing Manager
About the Position
Rubin and Rudman LLP is seeking a Marketing Manager to join its evolving Marketing and Business Development Department. The Marketing Manager will play an integral role in supporting the firm’s strategic marketing initiatives. Reporting directly to the Director of Marketing and Strategic Growth and Development, this is an excellent opportunity to be both a strategist and an equally important tactician, by influencing marketing strategies from concept to completion.
The Marketing Manager will be a valued partner at Rubin and Rudman. In this role you will work closely with firm management, department chairs, and attorneys of all levels within the firm. The firm’s overall marketing strategy and responsibilities are expanding, so this is an opportunity for you to not only help support our growth, but do so in a more efficient and effective manner. Job Responsibilities
- Leverage market trends and industry best practices to recommend innovative marketing solutions that drive the firm’s overall marketing strategy
- Develop a deep understanding of the firm’s practice areas, attorney experience and clients
- Create an integrated marketing calendar to manage the firm’s marketing initiatives
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Marketing and Strategic Growth and Development, individual attorneys and practice groups to develop and implement tailored marketing plans and budgets
- Lead and support content creation and marketing campaigns
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Marketing and Strategic Growth and Development and individual attorneys and practice groups to create strong and impactful biographies, practice group descriptions, article submissions, and other content
- Contribute to the design, development and implementation of a new firm website
- Develop fresh content for the firm’s various social media platforms including LinkedIn, FB and Twitter
- Advise with respect to paid and organic social media campaigns as well as analytics
- Increase effective marketing practices including web-optimization and SEO
- Design and maintain print and promotional materials for advertising, direct mail marketing, firm newsletters, alerts, firm brochures, practice descriptions, publications and firm stationary, note cards and other marketing collateral
- Oversee the firm’s promotional product (SWAG) program
- With direction from the Director of Marketing and Strategic Growth and Development, oversee the firm’s media and public relations activities, including drafting press releases, new attorney announcements and other firm news
- Develop strong relationships with local and regional media professionals
- Strategize to create interesting story ideas and speaking and writing opportunities, and proactively pitch to relevant news and trade outlets
- Manage the firm’s holiday card program with direction and input from other professionals within the firm
- Design and implement the firm’s internal attorney newsletter
- Manage the firm’s profiles in on-line directories
- Oversee the Ranking and Awards submission process to ensure timely responses by creating a calendar of upcoming deadlines for directories
- Develop, promote and support in-person and virtual events including: webinars, panel discussions, networking functions, and attorney speaking engagements as well as internal events including practice group meetings, attorney lunches and other internal firm events
- Facilitate firm sponsorships including overseeing the creation and submission of ads, logos and firm participation
- Evaluate and manage all firm memberships to ensure we take full advantage of membership opportunities and benefits as well as to enhance our firm profile
- Manage the firm’s Requests for Proposals and pitch process including redesigning the current template and creating new and consistent content and imagery
- Collaborate with individual attorneys and practice groups to build and maintain a database of representative experience
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in marketing or similar field
- A minimum of six years of marketing experience in a law firm preferred, but other professional service experience may be considered
- Superb commitment to providing the highest level of client service
- Sound judgement and a confidence in your ability to take initiative and be decisive
- A commitment to uphold the firm’s confidentiality policy
- A “can-do”, team-oriented attitude that comes from being flexible, accommodating and professional
- Perform well in a fast-paced environment where shifting priorities and demands are common-place
- Detail-oriented and highly communicative with other marketing team members and professionals within the firm
- A strong familiarity with Massachusetts and the Boston business community
- A willingness to take on cross functional projects needed to ensure delivery and success
- A sense of humor doesn’t hurt
Skills
- WordPress
- E-mail campaign software (e.g. Constant Contact, Mailchimp, etc.)
- Superb knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter)
- Working knowledge of CRM software is a plus
- Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite
- Substantial experience with Canva and InDesign
- Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
