LEGAL ASSISTANT

Lisa Yankowski

Elizabeth represents individuals and businesses in complex civil litigation – where the stakes are high and the answers aren't always obvious.

She handles commercial disputes, often involving real estate, employment, and contract issues, and works with clients through every phase: drafting pleadings, managing discovery, arguing motions, and preparing for trial.

Her path to litigation wasn’t linear. Elizabeth explored different areas of law before realizing she was drawn to the courtroom – to the problem-solving, the pace, and the chance to guide clients through obstacles with a sense of calm. Her broad background now helps her spot issues others might miss, especially in cases that don’t fit neatly into one practice area.

Before moving to private practice, Elizabeth clerked for a justice of the New York State Supreme Court in Rockland County. She spent her days researching thorny legal questions, drafting opinions, and sitting in on settlement conferences. This work taught her how much clarity and preparation matter when someone’s livelihood is on the line.
