Neal brings nearly three decades of experience to his work guiding companies through all stages of growth and transition.

Neal began his career as a litigator but transitioned early to corporate and transactional law, drawn to the opportunity to work more directly with clients on the growth, structure, and future of their businesses. Since 2017, Neal has also served on the firm’s Executive Committee, taking a leadership role in the strategic direction and continued expansion of the firm.

As general counsel to closely held businesses—many with national and international operations—Neal advises on day-to-day operational matters and leads sophisticated corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, and strategic partnerships. He is frequently called upon for his thoughtful approach to business succession planning, helping clients prepare for the next chapter of ownership and leadership in a way that is seamless and tax-efficient.

His experience also extends to representing private equity sponsors, institutional and angel investors in investment transactions, and financial institutions in a range of middle-market lending deals. Additionally, Neal counsels senior executives on the negotiation of employment and separation agreements, providing guidance that aligns their personal objectives with business realities.

Represent a large construction vehicle equipment distributor in multiple phases of corporate growth and transition, including: (a) the sale of a major business division to a national competitor, (b) the expansion of operations through the acquisition of complementary businesses, and (c) the design and implementation of a comprehensive succession plan that preserved family ownership while transitioning daily management to a newly appointed executive team.

General Counsel to European Construction Products Company in North American Expansion

Serve as outside general counsel to the North American operations of a major European-based construction products supplier. Advise the company on the expansion of its footprint in the United States and Canada through multiple strategic acquisitions of competing businesses.
