Higher Education

Rubin and Rudman’s Education practice group represents numerous public and private colleges and universities, as well as public, private and charter secondary schools in Massachusetts. We also represent students and their parents on education related issues.  With  our knowledge and unique depth of experience in education law and educational policy, as well as our particularly strong experience in handling labor and employment matters, we are well suited to respond to the varying needs of our clients, from both the institutional and  student perspectives.

Members of our Education team work proactively with colleges, universities, schools and school committees to minimize the risk of potential litigation by advising administrators on policy development, changes in the law and issues of regulatory compliance.

Additionally, we provide training to administrators, faculty and staff on a variety of subjects, ranging from collective bargaining and the prevention of unlawful discrimination to day-to-day compliance with the statutory regimes that govern such areas as student privacy and employee leave entitlements.
