who we serve

Strategic, compassionate counsel for families moving forward

Family transitions are deeply personal—and often legally complex. We help clients move through transitions with clarity, confidence, and a strategy built around what matters most: protecting their families, finances, and futures.

Our Family Law team is among the largest and most experienced in Massachusetts, known for the professional guidance we provide to clients regarding divorce, child custody, parenting plans, alimony, paternity actions, asset division, post-judgment modifications, family law-related appeals and the drafting and negotiation of pre- and post-nuptial agreements.

Clients rely on us during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. Some come to us seeking a practical resolution to an uncontested divorce. Others face urgent issues involving an abuse prevention order, an emergency motion for custody, or court intervention on an array of complex personal and financial issues. Every case is different. We listen closely, act decisively, and build a strategy to best address each client’s personal goals.

Our cases frequently involve high-net-worth individuals, multigenerational wealth, and closely held businesses. Some involve emotional and complicated decisions about children, safety, and long-term care. We are proud to serve individuals and families from all walks of life, including LGBTQ+ parents and blended families seeking creative legal protections. Many of our clients are business owners, professionals with complex compensation packages or individuals with trust-based wealth. Our attorneys understand how to evaluate and divide sophisticated financial structures, including equity compensation, family trusts, real estate holdings, and interests in family-owned enterprises. We frequently collaborate with colleagues in our Trusts and Estates, Corporate, and Real Estate groups to create fully integrated solutions—especially when property transfers, succession planning, or tax considerations come into play.

Our attorneys are trained negotiators and several are mediators who know how to de-escalate conflict while still advocating for the best possible outcome. When litigation is necessary, we are formidable in the courtroom. Our lawyers have extensive experience in the Massachusetts Probate and Family Court system, as well as in appellate matters, including cases involving complex asset division, business valuation methodology, and deviation from alimony and child support guidelines. Some of our attorneys have been appointed by the Court to serve as Special Masters, Parenting Coordinators or Guardians ad Litem where their extensive experience in particular aspects of the law can assist the Court in deciding issues involved in those cases.

We also bring deep experience to prenuptial and postnuptial agreements, working closely with clients and their advisors to safeguard generational wealth, inheritance rights, and premarital assets. Agreements are carefully negotiated to reflect each client’s circumstances, often involving family business interests or multigenerational estate plans.

Family law is about more than resolving a present conflict, it’s about creating a thoughtful path forward. We help our clients reclaim stability, preserve what they’ve built, and advance into the next chapter of their lives with confidence and the knowledge needed to successfully accomplish their goals.
