Trusts & Estates Senior-Level Associate
We are seeking a senior-level associate to join our highly regarded Trusts & Estates practice. Renowned as one of the largest and most distinguished practices in Massachusetts, our Trusts & Estates group serves as a cornerstone of the firm’s reputation and continued success. The ideal candidate will bring at least seven (7) years of sophisticated experience in trusts and estates planning and administration, with a proven track record advising high-net-worth individuals, families, and their professional advisors on advanced, tax-efficient wealth transfer strategies.
Our practice encompasses an extensive range of services, including the establishment and administration of trusts, formation of limited partnerships and LLCs for asset protection, creation of Dynasty Trusts, sophisticated life insurance planning, charitable giving strategies involving various trusts and private foundations, and Massachusetts and federal taxable estate administrations. Additionally, we prepare “core” estate planning documents, including wills, revocable trusts, durable powers of attorney, health care proxies and HIPAA Releases.
Responsibilities
- Draft complex, strategic estate planning documents tailored to clients’ personal and business needs.
- Advise clients on asset-protection strategies, business-succession planning, and methods to minimize income, gift, and estate tax exposure.
- Apply analytical rigor, practical judgment, and empathetic client service to help families and businesses retain, grow, protect, and transfer assets effectively.
Qualifications
- J.D. degree from an accredited law school and active membership in good standing with the Massachusetts Bar.
- LL.M. in Taxation preferred, but not required.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in estate planning, trusts and estates administration, and estate and gift tax planning.
- Exceptional skills and efficiency in drafting and reviewing sophisticated estate planning and financial documents.
- Self-motivated, personable, and able to thrive both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, client-focused environment.
- Prior experience at a reputable regional, national, or respected local law firm is strongly preferred.
Compensation
The firm’s expected salary range for this position is $165,000-$190,000. Actual salary will be determined based on education, experience, internal equity and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable law.
