Boston office lease terms lengthen as premium spaces tighten
Rubin Rudman plans to move its headquarters to One Federal Street, one of the most recognizable office towers in Boston’s Financial District. Under a 15-year lease, the firm will occupy 57,844 square feet across the entire 23rd and 24th floors and part of the 25th floor of the building. The move, scheduled for February 2028, follows more than a decade at 53 State Street and adds nearly 15,000 square feet of space to support the firm’s continued growth.
The new office will be designed by Gensler to reflect the firm’s updated brand identity, with a central staircase connecting its two full floors and views toward the Charles River. Plans also include a conference space able to host more than 100 guests, giving the firm a new venue for client events and community gatherings.
As Managing Partner John J. McGivney noted, the firm looks forward to developing the space to its exact specifications. The article that follow present the Boston Business Journal’s coverage of this milestone and what it means for the firm, its employees, and its clients.
“That’s the kind of thing you’re able to negotiate when you take a longer term, and it’s important to us because we intend to expand and grow, and to expand and grow our space is needed” – John McGivney, Managing Partner
“15 Year lease cements the firm’s long-term presence at One Federal.
The space with views from the harbor to the east and the Charles River to the west, will entice employees to be in the office more often, he said.”
