who we serve

Companies, insurers, institutions, and individuals

Litigation is a critical tool to protect what’s at stake—a company’s future, an institution’s reputation, or an individual’s livelihood. Rubin Rudman has built a litigation practice equipped to handle high-stakes disputes with sophistication and tenacity, drawing on decades of experience across industries and jurisdictions. Our team represents publicly traded corporations, small businesses, private companies, insurers, nonprofit organizations, academic institutions, utilities, and individuals—advising them in complex commercial litigation, insurance coverage disputes, catastrophic injury defense, cross-border matters, and more. The diversity of our clientele reflects the depth and versatility of our litigators.
What sets us apart is how we work—with clients, not just for them. We begin by understanding clients’ goals, risk tolerance, and business realities. From there, we craft a practical litigation strategy that protects reputations and preserves client resources. While we’re skilled trial lawyers, we also know that a courtroom isn’t always the best venue for resolution. Our lawyers are seasoned negotiators and advocates in arbitration and mediation, with a track record of resolving disputes efficiently and discreetly whenever possible.

When trial is necessary, we’re fully prepared. Our litigators have argued before state and federal trial and appellate courts—including the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court, the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit, and courts across the country. We serve as lead counsel in cases involving significant exposure, novel legal questions, and public scrutiny. Our attorneys have secured multimillion-dollar verdicts, obtained defense judgments in wrongful death and catastrophic injury matters, and successfully represented clients in appeals.

In insurance litigation, we represent insurers nationally and locally in high-exposure disputes. Our team advises on complex coverage issues, insurance law, extracontractual or “bad faith” litigation, complex commercial and tort litigation, and appeals.

We coordinate closely with colleagues in Rubin Rudman’s Corporate, Real Estate, Employment, and Trusts and Estates groups to deliver holistic solutions to litigation challenges with roots in other legal areas. This allows us to spot issues early, anticipate cross-practice implications, and deploy the full strength of our firm on our clients’ behalf.

Clients often tell us they feel more in control of the process after engaging our team. That’s no accident. We prioritize communication, preparation, and accessibility—so you’re never left wondering where things stand. We don’t just prepare for court; we prepare our clients for every stage of litigation, from deposition to verdict or resolution.
