Two Rubin and Rudman Attorneys, Stephanie Addeo and Lauren E. DeMatteo, Accepted to the New England Fellows Institute of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel

Boston, MA (January 9, 2023) – Rubin and Rudman is pleased to announce that Stephanie Addeo and Lauren E. DeMatteo have been accepted into the New England Fellows Institute of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.

The New England Fellows Institute was created by Fellows of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel (ACTEC) to develop the profession’s future leaders through a series of in-depth educational presentations led by subject matter experts in each field. A Fellow of the ACTEC must nominate candidates for the New England Fellows Institute. Participants who successfully complete the program will be formally recognized as Graduates of the Institute.

Addeo, an Associate and member of Rubin and Rudman’s Trusts and Estates Department, focuses her practice on probate litigation, guardianships and conservatorships (contested and uncontested), will contests, trust disputes, breaches of fiduciary duty, and aspects of trust and estate administration. She represents individuals and families in these various areas of practice through skilled writing, research, and oral advocacy. She works with her team to ensure the best outcome by using a resolution-focused approach and maintaining family relations through these challenging experiences.

DeMatteo, also an Associate and member of the firm’s Trusts and Estates Department, focuses her practice in the areas of elder law, estate planning, and trust and estate administration. She assists individuals and families with a wide range of objectives, including designing and implementing core and tax-and-gifting-focused estate plans. She guides clients through long-term care planning and supplemental needs planning and represents individuals and families in guardianship and conservatorship proceedings.

Addeo received her J.D. from Suffolk University Law School with a concentration in trial and appellate advocacy with distinction. She was listed as a Massachusetts Rising Star in 2023, and is on the Board of Directors for the Massachusetts Guardianship Association.

DeMatteo received her J.D. from New England Law, J.D. She was recently listed The Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch® for Elder Law in 2024 and has been recognized by Boston magazine as a Top Lawyer in Elder Law since 2022. She has also been listed as a Massachusetts Rising Star, 2019-2023.
