Rubin and Rudman’s Jeffrey A. Dretler Earns Membership to the American Employment Law Council

BOSTON, MA – (June 2023) – Rubin and Rudman, a Boston-based, full-service law firm, announced that Jeffrey A. Dretler, Partner in the firm’s Labor and Employment practice, was invited to join the American Employment Law Council (AELC). Membership to this prestigious organization is by invitation only, and members include renowned management-side attorneys who work in-house or in private practice within the United States and abroad.

Dretler has over 25 years of experience representing employers in state and federal courts and administrative agencies in cases involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour issues, and the enforcement of non-competition agreements and protection of trade secrets. Dretler has also advised employers on day-to-day human resources matters involving leaves of absence, reasonable accommodation, and independent contractor law, and he has conducted workplace investigations and training. His practice spans a range of industries, including healthcare, education, financial services, technology, assisted living, transportation, manufacturing, retail, human services, and professional services.

Dretler has garnered numerous awards. In 2014 he was inducted into The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers as a Fellow. He has been listed by The Best Lawyers in America® for Employment Law – Management from 2018­­-2023. From 2013-2022 Dretler was selected to Massachusetts’ Super Lawyers list, and in 2015 and 2022 he was selected to the Top 100 Massachusetts Super Lawyers attorneys. He has been named a Top Lawyer in Labor and Employment Law by Boston Magazine in 2021 and 2022, and in 2021 he was recognized by Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly’s Go To Lawyers in Employment.

Dretler is Co-Chair Emeritus of the American Bar Association’s Section of Labor and Employment Law, and Vice-Chair of their Newsletter Committee. He is a Past-President and current member of Northeastern University’s School of Law Alumni Board. Dretler has also been a member of the Massachusetts Commission Against Discrimination’s Advisory Board since 2016.

Dretler received his J.D. from Northeastern University School of Law in 1991 and his B.A. from Northwestern University in 1985.

Dretler is admitted to practice in Massachusetts, the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts, and the United States Court of Appeals for the First Circuit.
