Steven M. Cohen Speaks at Elder Decisions® Elder/ Adult Family Mediation Training

Boston, MA (March 17, 2021) Partner and Chair of the Elder Law Department, Steven M. Cohen of regional law firm Rubin and Rudman, was a featured speaker at Elder Decisions® Elder / Adult Family Mediation Training on Wednesday, March 17. This flagship training included interactive components, fellow guest experts, small group exercises, role plays and discussions related to legal issues associated with representing older clients.

This training brought together a group of lead trainers, licensed social workers, and attorneys to educate mediators about specialized skills and techniques for working with seniors and adult families facing issues such as living arrangements, caregiving, driving, family communication, medical care, Powers of Attorney/ Health Care Proxies/ Guardianship/ Conservatorship, financial planning, estate planning, family real estate and personal property distribution.

The virtual training was held every Wednesday and Saturday throughout March and is approved under Part 146 by the New York State Unified Court System’s Office of ADR Programs for 16 hours of Additional Mediation Training.

Cohen’s practice is dedicated to educating the elder care community on the intricacies of elder law. He regularly speaks to senior and professional groups, as well as to healthcare professionals in hospitals and nursing homes on topics related to elder law. As Chair of Rubin and Rudman’s Elder Law practice group, he provides specialized guidance on the following areas:
