Rubin and Rudman Continues its Strategic Growth with the Addition of Experienced Attorneys Joseph R. Tarby III and Donna M. White

Boston, MA (November, 2020) – Regional law firm Rubin and Rudman welcomes attorneys Joseph R. Tarby III and Donna M. White, both formerly of Murtha Cullina LLP. Tarby joins as a Partner in the firm’s Real Estate Department and White returns to Rubin and Rudman as a Partner in the Trust & Estates Department. 

Tarby focuses his practice on zoning, land use, real estate, and liquor license law. Prior to coming to Rubin and Rudman, Tarby spent 20 years as a partner in Murtha Cullina’s Real Estate Practice Group, and was Chair of the Retail and Hospitality Group, and Co-Chair of the Land Use Group. Before Murtha Cullina, Tarby was a partner at Roche, Carens & DeGiacomo.  

He represents national, regional and local property and shopping center developers, retailers and restaurants. Additionally, he advises lenders and borrowers in commercial real estate and asset-based financing.

White, who rejoins Rubin and Rudman after three years at Murtha Cullina, represents clients in all aspects of estate planning, including estate, gift and generation skipping transfer tax planning, with a focus on leveraged gifting techniques and other planning strategies involving irrevocable trusts and limited liability entities.

She advises family-owned closely held entities regarding estate and business succession planning and counsels individuals and fiduciaries concerning multistate and international tax and estate disposition issues.  Additionally, White advises individual and institutional trustees on fiduciaries responsibilities and trust reformation. She also has experience advising families and fiduciaries on all aspects of estate administration including the preparation of state and federal estate tax returns and advising individuals regarding guardianships and conservatorships and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.

Tarby received a J.D. from New England School of Law, and a B.S.B.A from Boston University. He is active in many community organizations, including serving on the Board of Trustees (Clerk) of Winchester Hospital, part of Beth Israel Lahey Health, and the Board of Directors of Northmark Bank. He is Past President of the Woburn Business Association and Woburn Rotary Club.

White, received an LL.M from Boston University School of Law and a J.D., cum laude, from Suffolk University Law School.
